BACKGROUND: Many different versions of DOS were created (such as CP/M, CP/M-86, QDOS, 86-DOS, MS-DOS, PC-DOS, DOS Plus, DR-DOS, Novell DOS, PTS-DOS, OpenDOS, FreeDOS - just to name a few)! This web page highlights those versions of DOS that were instrumental in the development of MS-DOS and eventually Windows.
